Asia has quietly become the busiest continent on the nomad event calendar. Japan alone runs three long-stay festivals, Korea's city governments now fund workation cohorts, and the region hosts everything from a 400-person festival in Da Nang to a 15-seat finale on a volcanic island off Taiwan.
This guide lists every event in Asia with organizer-confirmed dates for 2026/27, sorted by what they actually are: conferences, festivals, and coliving camps. Because the months between big events matter too, we added the weekly meetup scenes in the hub cities, and the cultural dates you genuinely need to plan around (one of them shuts down an entire island, airport included). For the worldwide calendar, see our main events guide, and Japan has its own deep dive.

๐ค Conferences and summits
๐น๐ญ Nomad Summit & Nomad Week in Chiang Mai, Thailand

Tickets from โฌ249. Mid-January is also Chiang Mai at its objective best: dry, cool, and before burning season.

๐น๐ญ CosmoLocal CNX Main Week in Chiang Mai, Thailand
The 2027 edition is confirmed: the culmination of a month-long September pop-up village in Wat Ket, with four parallel coliving tracks of 10 to 15 people each (2027 adds a Makers' Camp plus wellness and longevity tracks), all converging on a six-day Main Week of keynotes, workshops and a community potluck. Passes are on sale: Purple at about โฌ325 (all events plus 24/7 coworking at Alt_PingRiver) and Gold at about โฌ465 (adds small-group meals with the keynote speakers and curated intros), billed in US dollars. Transparency note: Genki is among the backers, and the event made this list on the same criteria as every other entry.

๐ช Nomad festivals and community gatherings
๐ป๐ณ Da Nang Nomad Fest in Da Nang, Vietnam
The big festival format comes back to Vietnam: ten days, 400+ attendees from 70+ countries, 40+ speakers, an AI Day, a hackathon, day trips to Hoi An, and the famous pickleball tournament. Early bird about โฌ136, regular โฌ275. March is one of Da Nang's best months. Transparency note: Genki is a sponsor of the 2027 edition, listed here on the same criteria as everything else.

| Da Nang Nomad Fest | Mar 19-28, 2027 | Da Nang, Vietnam | Festival, 400+ people: talks, AI Day, hackathon, excursions | โฌ136 early bird |

๐น๐ผ Taiwan Digital Fest in East Taiwan
Taiwan's three-act festival across the wild east coast: two weeks in Hualien with a crew of about 40, four weeks in Taitung rotating through four zones with 200+ programs, and a 15-seat finale on Green Island with coral snorkeling and a rare seabed hot spring. Each act has its own ticket. Dates and locations are locked, and the discount ladder is live: 40% off until January 31, 2027, then shrinking stepwise until April. At the current tier the Taitung week pass is about โฌ110, the 12-day Hualien workation about โฌ220 (or about โฌ740 with 11 hotel nights included), the Taitung month about โฌ330, and the full festival pass about โฌ555, billed in US dollars.

๐๏ธ Camps and community weeks
The format Asia does better than anywhere: everyone books the same coliving for a few weeks and the program happens around the work.
๐ฏ๐ต Alt_Popup Kotohira in Shikoku, Japan
Chiang Mai's Alt_Coliving takes twelve people to a temple town on Shikoku for a month: accommodation, 24/7 coworking, an udon-making school, and excursions included, from about โฌ1,300 for the month in a dorm. Small by design, and exactly the "book the same place, become a crew" format this section is about. Alt_ also runs dated solopreneur coliving cohorts back home in Chiang Mai, plus weekly community events year-round.
| Event | ๐ Date | ๐ฏ Location | ๐ฃ๏ธ Format | ๐ถ Price |

| Alt_Popup Kotohira | Nov 1-Dec 1, 2026 | Kotohira, Shikoku, Japan | Coliving pop-up, 12 spots: all-in month, udon school, excursions | ~โฌ1,300 all-in |

๐ฏ๐ต Alt_Popup Kanazawa in Kanazawa, Japan
Alt_Coliving follows its Shikoku month with a holiday-season popup: twelve people in Kanazawa for a month over Christmas and New Year, run with LINNAS Kanazawa. The program leans into the season, with a Christmas dinner and tree decorating, weekly family meetings, a gold-leaf workshop, two group saunas and an excursion, plus 24/7 coworking and a bilingual community manager. About โฌ1,570 a month for a private double room or โฌ1,800 ensuite, billed in US dollars.

| Alt_Popup Kanazawa | Dec 3, 2026-Jan 2, 2027 | Kanazawa, Japan | Coliving pop-up, 12 spots: holiday-season month, all-in | ~โฌ1,570-1,800/mo |
Kotohira followed by Kanazawa adds up to about two months in Japan. That fits inside the 90-day visa-free stay for most nationalities, but tourist entry is meant for tourism, so if you plan to work through it, the Japan digital nomad visa is the status built for remote work of up to 6 months.
๐น๐ญ KoHub's season on Koh Lanta, Thailand
Not a dated camp but a season: KoHub opens November 1 and runs to April 30, and the island winter works as one long community program with weekly events around the coworking space. All-inclusive packages (private bungalow, membership and two meals a day) start around โฌ1,300 a month in the shoulder months and rise toward the January and February peak.

๐ฎ๐ณ India Jungle Wonderland in Dandeli (near Goa), India
Nomads in Wonderlands brings its pop-up coliving format to India: 28 nights at Jungli the Nomad Village, a 150-acre rainforest campus in Dandeli, Karnataka, opening with a meetup weekend in Goa on January 22 to 24. 25 to 35 participants, three meals a day included, rooms from โฌ1,050 early bird (up to โฌ2,800 for an XL unit for two). The same campus runs its own festival each June and a New Year week over the holidays.

โณ Waiting on 2027 dates
Four of Asia's biggest gatherings have closed their 2026 editions without posting the next ones. The patterns to plan around:
- Colive Fukuoka: runs every October alongside the RAMEN TECH startup conference in Fukuoka. Expect October 2027.
- Hiroshima Setouchi Nomad Fest: annual October to November across Hiroshima and the Inland Sea.
- Incheon's workation programs: Korea's city-backed cohorts ran in summer and autumn 2026. Watch for a summer 2027 round.
- Nomads in Paradise: Siargao every late October.
- FUTRFEST Osaka: typically spring and autumn editions, nothing posted for 2027 yet.
- Jungli the Nomad Festival: the rainforest festival near Goa confirmed a June 2027 edition, exact dates to be announced.
โ The weekly meetup scenes between the big events
The festivals get the headlines, but Asia's hub cities run on weekly fixtures you can walk into any week of the year.
- Chiang Mai: the original. The Nomad Coffee Club and a cluster of Meetup groups keep multiple weekly fixtures going, Alt_ and Yellow both host community events, and every January the whole city peaks around Nomad Week. Base reading: Thailand for nomads.
- Canggu, Bali: the long-time anchor Dojo Bali has closed, but the scene remains one of Asia's densest: coworking spaces host weekly events and the island's nomad groups organize meetups across Canggu and Pererenan. Base reading: Bali for nomads.
- Da Nang: the Da Nang Digital Nomads community runs the weekly nomad meetup plus active WhatsApp groups, and feeds straight into the March festival. Base reading: Vietnam for nomads.
- Bangkok: the Bangkok Digital Nomads meetup (by Nomads for Impact) runs one of the city's most active weekly communities: a new spot every Thursday, plus coworking, movie and board-game fixtures through the week.
- Cebu: the Cebu Digital Nomads group keeps the Philippines' second scene ticking with regular meetups. Base reading: Philippines for nomads.
- Seoul: the Digital Nomads Korea community runs regular meetups, anchored by the Hoppin House coliving in Hongdae, and Korea's city-backed workation cohorts return in the warm months.
๐๏ธ Plan around it: the dates that move your calendar
Not events to attend, dates to respect:
- Nyepi, Bali: March 8, 2027. The Balinese day of silence shuts down the entire island for 24 hours from 6 am, airport included, and mobile data is switched off island-wide. No flights, no traffic, no leaving your accommodation. The Ogoh-Ogoh parades the evening before are spectacular, then plan a full offline day.
- Lunar New Year: February 6, 2027. Vietnam's Tet means roughly a week of closures and the year's biggest travel crunch across Vietnam and China. Book transport weeks ahead or arrive after.
- Ramadan 2027: roughly February 8 to March 9 (moon-sighting dependent). In Malaysia and Indonesia expect altered opening hours, daytime dining discretion, and an Eid travel surge at the end. Unusually, it starts days after Lunar New Year, making February 2027 a double planning month.
- Songkran, Thailand: April 13 to 15, 2027. The nationwide water festival. Everything closes, everything gets soaked, laptops stay home. Chiang Mai celebrates longest. Either embrace it fully or schedule your deep work week elsewhere.
๐ One last thing
You could ride this calendar for a year without leaving Asia: a Shikoku temple town in November, Kanazawa over the holidays, Chiang Mai in January, Da Nang in March, Taiwan through May, and back to Chiang Mai for CosmoLocal in September. Or pick one festival and let the weekly meetups carry the rest. Either way, the full worldwide calendar lives in our main events guide, and if the coliving format is your thing, the retreats guide goes deeper.
Routing west after the Asian season? The Europe events deep dive runs the same format for the other end of the journey.
