Upcoming nomad retreats and pop-ups in 2026-2027
Discovering community, personal development, and connecting with people worldwide are some of the most rewarding aspects of our nomadic lifestyle. And sometimes a festival week is not enough: you want to live somewhere with your people, not just visit.
That is what this page is for. Below are upcoming retreats, workation programs, and pop-up coliving experiences designed for digital nomads and remote workers. The difference to our events. These are experiences you live inside for a week to several months, whether you keep working your normal job or deliberately take a break from it.

πΉπ CosmoLocal CNX in Chiang Mai, Thailand
CosmoLocal CNX turns Chiang Mai's Wat Ket neighborhood into a month-long pop-up village. Four parallel four-week coliving tracks run side by side, each with its own theme: AI for Chiang Mai, Food, Solopreneur, and the Nomad Futures Lab. All tracks converge in a Main Week from September 23-28 that is open to everyone, including those who cannot stay the full month.

| CosmoLocal CNX | Sep 1-28, 2026 | Chiang Mai, Thailand | Pop-up village, themed coliving | Coliving tracks, workshops, Main Week conference | ? | ?* |
Chiang Mai is one of the world's original nomad hubs, and September falls in the quieter green season with lower prices across the city. If a full month does not fit your calendar, the Main Week alone makes a good taster.

π―π΅ Colive Fukuoka pop-up coliving in Fukuoka, Japan
Japan's flagship workation program returns in 2026 with two parts: a 10-day main program from October 1-10 (see our events page) and this pop-up coliving stretch wrapped around it. From September 24 to October 17, participants live and work together in Fukuoka, combining the summit program with a deeper dive into local life, food, and culture.

The 2025 edition drew 496+ participants from 57 nationalities to the main program, and the coliving track is the way to experience it beyond the event itself. Japan's digital nomad visa makes a longer stay straightforward for many nationalities.
*Pricing marked as preliminary by the organizers. Final rates to be confirmed.
π§π· Noma Collective: Pipa in Brazil
Noma Collective's Brazilian edition brings the same month-long coliving format to Pipa, a laid-back beach town in the country's northeast known for dolphins, dune buggies, and dependable waves. Three weeks of structured community living: coworking by day, sunset sessions and group trips when the laptop closes.

πͺπ¨ Cuenca Pioneers in Cuenca, Ecuador
The most ambitious experiment on this list: a 90-day social experiment bringing 100 founders, creators, and remote professionals to live and work together in Cuenca, Ecuador. The question behind it: could this UNESCO-listed Andean city become a long-term nomad base? Participants keep their normal work while co-creating the community over three full months.

| Cuenca Pioneers | Dec 14, 2026-Mar 14, 2027 | Cuenca, Ecuador | 90-day pop-up community | Coliving, coworking, community building | ~100 | ? |
At 2,500 meters in the Andes, Cuenca offers spring-like weather year-round, a walkable historic center, and a cost of living far below the classic nomad hubs. Participation is application-based, and spending December to March in the southern hemisphere means skipping the northern winter entirely.
π Boundless Life for nomad families
The only program on this list built for nomads with kids. Boundless Life runs semester-length cohorts that combine long-stay family homes, an education program for the children, and a built-in community of like-minded families in locations such as Tuscany, Portugal, Greece, and Bali.

Further 2027 cohorts run Mar 25-Jun 10 and Sep 14-Dec 9, plus summer camps and a December getaway. Spots per location are limited and early enquiries are recommended.
π Rolling programs worth knowing
Not every retreat fits a fixed calendar entry. These organizers run new editions continuously, so check their calendars for dates that fit your route:
WiFi Tribe runs 4-, 6-, or 8-week "chapters" around the world with groups of 12-25. Joining requires an application and a $500 annual membership fee; most chapters start at or below $1,400 for a shared room and $2,300 for a private room.
Unsettled curates retreats from one week to a full month, from Tahiti sailing trips to a 6-week Side Project Bootcamp, with a co-created, lightly facilitated style.
The Nomad Escape organizes all-inclusive business and community retreats of one to four weeks in destinations such as Madeira and Bali, typically priced at $1,500-$2,500, including accommodation, coworking, workshops, and activities. Their Founder Island Fest in Madeira (Dec 4-10, 2026) is on our events page.
Noma Collective publishes new editions continuously and is already booking 2027; the two editions above are simply the next ones with open spots.
