Our favorite coliving spaces in Asia

Bali or bust? Not anymore. Asia's coliving scene has grown far beyond Canggu, and the most interesting houses now sit in a Thai old town, a Vietnamese rice paddy, a Sri Lankan surf bay and a jungle in Karnataka.

Coliving in Asia solves the three things that are hardest to arrange remotely: a furnished room, a workspace that survives power cuts, and a ready made community. Here are 7 coliving spaces across 7 countries worth building a trip around, all verified and operating in 2026.

🇵🇭 Communal Coliving on Siargao, Philippines

The Philippines' surf island answer: a solar-powered coliving home in quiet Santa Fe, 15 minutes from the General Luna surf strip. The solar setup and Starlink matter here, since Siargao's grid has real brownouts, and Communal keeps working through them.

The Colive+ package bundles a private ensuite room with 24/7 access to all of Outpost's Bali coworking spaces, member events and the app-based community hub. Note for readers of older lists: Outpost's Canggu location has closed.

🇮🇳 Jungli, the nomad village in Dandeli, India

The most unusual entry on this list: an application only nomad village on 150 acres of family owned jungle in Dandeli, Karnataka, about 3 hours inland from Goa. Three coliving houses (Big, Soch and Serenne), villas and camping spots sit between jungle trails, rivers and actual wild deer, with 200+ Mbps wifi and power backup. In its first two years, Jungli hosted 650+ residents from more than 21 countries, a third of all nights booked by solo women travelers, and in June 2026 it hosted India's first digital nomad festival (the next edition comes June 2027).

🇹🇼 Borderless House in Taipei, Taiwan

The concept entry, and maybe the smartest one: 16 share houses across Taipei engineered so that every house is half Taiwanese locals, half foreigners, by design. You do not just move to Taipei, you move in with it. Rooms are allocated by nationality to keep the 50/50 mix, and the Borderless Mates program runs hikes, day trips and language exchanges across the whole 168-room network.

🌤️ SeasonYear round
🛌 Rooms168 rooms network wide, houses of 6 to 14 people
⏳ Minimum stay1 month, flexible 30 day notice
💶 From€320 shared / €420-440 private per month + utilities

Location: 16 houses across Taipei (Ximen, Da'an, Shilin, Gongguan and more), all near MRT stations.

Community: The built-in local half of the house is the community program, plus staff runs events and a 15,000-strong alumni network. One honest note: there is no dedicated coworking, you work from the common rooms or Taipei's café scene. Pairs well with Taiwan's digital nomad visa.

Prices: Private singles around NT$14,500 to 15,000 per month (about €420 to €440), shared room beds from NT$11,000 (about €320), plus utilities of NT$800 to 1,200 and a small initial fee. Minimum stay 1 month with a flexible 30 day notice contract. Current listings.

🥥 Who is Asia coliving for?

  • First time in Asia: A coliving removes the three hardest arrival problems at once: housing, workspace, and people. Land, unpack, plug in.
  • Solo travelers: Every space on this list reports a majority solo crowd, and several (Jungli, Nomadico, Borderless House) are built specifically around turning strangers into a group.
  • Budget planners: Prices run roughly €320 (a Taipei shared room) to €1,200 (Ubud all in). The sweet spot for a private room with workspace included is €500 to €900 per month, usually cheaper than assembling rent, coworking and utilities separately.
  • Season chasers: Chiang Mai and Taipei run year round, Sri Lanka peaks December to April, Siargao and Hoi An have their own rhythms. Check each fact box before booking flights.
