🌍 Locations

Workaway provides access to more than 50,000 experiences in more than 170 countries. Memberships are valid worldwide and allow you to experience stays wherever you find a host.

Examples of Workaway experiences include volunteering on a sailboat in the Caribbean, helping at a yoga retreat in Bali, supporting a permaculture farm in Turkey, teaching English at a school in Cambodia, staying with a local family in Greece, or working at a hostel in Brazil.

The experiences are totally unique.

🀝 Exchange

In general, you are expected to exchange around 5 hours of your time to help the host with the tasks you agreed on upfront. In return, you receive free accommodation and free food. In some cases you can also get paid, especially if you bring experience and skills. It is important to communicate upfront with the host to ensure the agreement is clear for both parties.

A global community allows you access to travel buddies, local hosts, and other workawayers. The platform has integrated tools that allows its members to meet up for coffee, plan travels together, or find language partners.

Choose between a single workaway membership or sign up as a couple or a family. Prices start at 45 Euro per year for a single workawayer account.

🌳 Giving back

Workaway has sponsored numerous independent projects throughout the past years (some are Workaway hosts and others are via Kiva) as a way to give something back on a local level.

Workaway also recently started working with Ecologi to help fight climate change. With this partnership Ecologi will plant a tree on behalf of each Workaway traveller as part of the climate action.
